If you’re wondering where to park, the closest place to the park is the Treasure Island Garage Lot #8, at a rate of $2.75/per hour (no free parking).

How To Get To Treasure Island Park & Beach

The most accessible parking to get to Treasure Island Park is the Laguna Beach Parking Garage Lot #8, on Wesley Drive and Coast Highway.

It’s $2.75 per hour, and you can pay with cash or credit cards. This lot is located right at the entrance of Treasure Island Park.

If you want to park closer to the beach, you can park at the Treasure Island Surface Lot #7, adjacent to the Montage resort. To get there, enter the driveway to Montage Resort, and turn left into the parking lot between Montage resort and Coast Highway. The rate is $2.75 per hour, and there’s a 3 hour limit. 

The last place to park is the Aliso Beach Parking Lot, which is just a five minute walk from Treasure Island Park. It’s a large parking lot with plenty of spaces available, and the rate is $3 per hour (3 hour limit).

Treasure Island Park has incredible views of the coast as you walk throughout.

We visited on a weekday and the park was relaxing, and quiet enough to enjoy the sounds of the waves.

The park is surrounded by beautiful flowers, and has benches, picnic tables, and restrooms (located right in the parking garage).

Treasure Island Beach has beautiful rock formations, and tide pools filled with crabs, sea stars, and lots of interesting marine life to explore.

During the spring and summer, you can potentially even spot seals soaking in the sun, around the tide pools!

The entire beach stretches all the way to Aliso Beach (on the South side), and Victoria Beach (on the North).

Whether you visit on a weekend or weekday, there’s plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beach.

The park has grassy areas and wheelchair accessible ramps, so it’s a great dog-friendly park as well.

This is the perfect place to have a picnic overlooking the beach, or simply stroll along enjoying ocean views. I highly recommend visiting on a low tide day so you can explore the tide pools.

What are Treasure Island Park’s hours?

Treasure Island Park is open all year from 6am–10pm. 

Does Treasure Island have free parking?

No, unfortunately there’s no free street parking near Treasure Island. The Laguna Beach Parking Garage at the entrance to the park costs $2.75 per hour. 

If this parking lot is full, you can also park at the large Aliso Beach parking lot for $3 per hour. 

The Aliso Beach Parking Lot is just a short 5 minute walk (1.5 mile) to the entrance of Treasure Island Park. 

Is Treasure Island Beach dog-friendly?

Yes, from September 11–June 14, dogs are allowed during regular beach hours. 

During the summer from June 15-September 10, dogs are only allowed before 9am, and after 6pm. There’s well–paved trails, and a solid ramp down to the beach so the park is very dog-friendly. 

Keep in mind that dogs must be leashed (with a leash that’s 6’ or less), at all times. 

How long is the walk around Treasure Island Park?

The walk from the parking garage to Treasure Island Beach is around a mile, and takes around 30 minutes to walk there and back. 

You can easily spend a few hours exploring the beaches and cave pools, so it’s well worth a visit.
