Ready to book a wine tour in Porto but not sure which one’s right for you? You’re in the right place.

With there being so many wine tours available, it can be difficult to decide which one’s worth it. This article will cover all of the best Porto wine tours, from touring wineries in the Douro Valley to port-tasting in Vila Nova de Gaia, and wine museums.

Here are the best Porto wine-tasting tours for every type of traveler.

Types of Porto Wine Tours

Port wine is produced from grapes grown exclusively in the Douro Valley region, which is an 1.5 hour drive north of Porto. This is one of the world’s oldest demarcated wine regions, and it has a variety of vineyards tucked along the beautiful hills.

If you want to see where the grapes are grown, harvested, and fermented to make port wine, opt for a full day tour to the Douro valley

Beyond the Douro Valley, port wine is aged in Vila Nova de Gaia, a city located right across the Douro River from Porto. It’s home to a variety of port lodges, and only a 20 minute walk down from the Dom Luis I Bridge.
