Despite visiting the Bluff Top Trail on an overcast day, I was still amazed at how beautiful the views were.
We parked on Amber Lantern St, and walked across the trail towards the East. The trail is only 0.2 miles long, so it’s a popular place for locals to hang out, and runners to pass by.
From the trail, you’ll get an incredible view of the harbor and the three Dana Point Arches.
The trail is more of a scenic viewpoint rather than a hike, so it’s a great place to hang out and watch the sunset when the skies are clear.

There is plenty of free street parking once you arrive at the Bluff Top Trail, on Amber Lantern street. There’s street sweeping only on Wednesdays from 8am-10am.
If you’re visiting during this time, you can find ample parking on the main street (Santa Clara street) before you turn onto Amber Lantern street.
